Rocket

The older kids were quizzing Reagan at dinner about what she wants to be when she grows up.
Rachael, "Do you want to be a mommy when you grow up?"
Reagan, "Nooo."
Geoffrey, "Then what do you want to be when you grow up?"
Reagan, "ROCKET!!!"

Reagan is obsessed with Little Einsteins. If something is red it is Rocket red, if something is big it is Big Jet big. Our old red van was Rocket and our new grayish (supposedly it is officially called Granite Green--I just don't see it-looks gray to me) van has become Big Jet car. So I guess she now aspires to be a rocket when she grows up. I guess it's better than aspiring to be a rock-star. That is Lilly's aspiration.

Two stories from Tuesday

Reagan was helping me cook dinner and I ran outside to our herb garden to get some herbs for the primavera I was cooking. I sliced them up, threw them in the pan, and quickly started to set the table. When I came back to the stove I found a leaf in the pan. Reagan said, "I get grass too for dinner."

The second thing really isn't a story but a before and after shot of Lilly who got her haircut. She loves it and I love not dealing with the tangles.

Court of Honor

Sunday night Geoffrey attended the Court of Honor for Scouts. He had the privilege of being the MC as well. He did a great job announcing everything. Cool, calm and collected. Geoff assures me that he was anything but calm but he sure faked it well. Here he is in his uniform right before we left. I was so pleased that I got all of his badges sewn on to his sash. In this picture they are reading the list of badges that Geoffrey was receiving. The list was so long everyone started chuckling, including Geoffrey. I even heard a "DUDE!" from the audience. Geoff received 16 badges, 1 special badge and advanced in rank to Life Scout. Good job G! I guess I have some more sewing to do.

First Day of School--Returning Home

Time for another school year. This year I missed the before school pictures but took some after school pictures. Much more entertaining and enlightening.


Mom: So, Geoff how was the first day of school?



Geoff: Are you SURE I have to go back EVERY DAY? I already have homework.




Mom: Rachael did you have a good first day of school?


Rachael: Just look at all of this stuff I have to carry. I think I need wheels on my backpack!


Mom: How was second grade, Lilly? Did you love it?




Lilly: Mom, second grade is the best! It's just like first grade-we even get FREE time!!!!

Mom: How did you like the first day of school, Reagan? Do you like having your mom all to yourself?

Reagan: I LLLOOOVVEE IT! We went shopping, I took my shoes and socks off and danced around the store, we played games, we read stories. Can we do it again tomorrow?

So, on to a new season in the Rogers household. Mom definitely loved the first day--and the second and the third day of school.
