Lilly's Birthday

Birthday Tea for Lilly!

For Lilly's seventh birthday we had a tea party in the backyard. The girls had a great time and found out that they actually LIKE mint tea!

Here is the teapot cake that I made--short and stout.

Can I come to the party too?
Reagan insisted on a princess dress and enjoyed being part of the festivities. The cake part, especially.

Lilly blew out all seven candles and did great in the obstacle course that included stacking sugar cubes, carrying a full tea set, answering a question about table manner and balancing a book on her head. She also loved her new toy box that Rachael and I decorated. She had a great birthday!

Potty Training

TIRED OF POTTY TRAINING!
We have had a few successes but mostly failures. But we have definitely had a few funny stories. Reagan ordered dad out of the bathroom. When he returned just a few minutes later, he found her fast asleep. Her head was bobbing up and down as she tried to keep her balance but she just kept sleeping while we all walked in and had a chuckle.
The second story was after Reagan had an unfortunate accident and I told her that it made me sad when she didn't use the potty.
Reagan, "You sad mom??"
Mom, "Yes I am sad you didn't use the potty."
Reagan, "You Happy???"
Mom, "No, I'm sad."
Reagan, "I know!!! My Jesus will make you happy!"
At which point she ran and got her book with pictures of Jesus in it. I, of course, agreed with her and told her that, Yes, Jesus makes me happy.

Nauvoo

Nauvoo was hot and muggy but we still managed to have a great time.

Here are some highlights.

Rachael is doing what she loves best. Reading! Lilly is listening intently.

Geoffrey loves the fact that he is taller than mom.

Reagan loves to say CHEESE for a photo shoot.

Here's the whole crew.
